I never visited The Reservoir Inn when it was open. Judging by vintage photos of the pub, it looked like a characterful establishemnt - a little rough around the edges perhaps. Sadly the Reservoir Inn closed, and became Koloshi Indian restaurant, which I also never visited! The venue had a brief spell as The Reservoir Inn again, before it closed for good
However after an extensive restoration and a rebrand, the venue reopened as The Fox, an upmarket dining establishment with accommodation, in July 2026. The people behind the reopening, have a few other businesses in Cheltenham, but they may have some competition with Dunkertons Park, which is located just a short distance away from The Fox. To be honest it is not my kind of hostilery, but my partner PJ and I visited it a few days ago out of curiosity.
Both the exterior and interior, have undergone a dramaic transformation. Light wood panelling and furnishings seems to be a recurring theme. There are beverages from the Deya Brewery, which is based in Cheltenham, and Hawkestone, amongst others. It is a pleasant enough environment, but I don't think The Fox will become a regular destination for us.
